The course goes through a truly beautiful Lappish fell scenery from Ylläsjärvi, Äkäslompolo, Kukastunturi, Pyhäjärvi and finally heading to Levi. In the 70 km race, there are three fells for skiers to climb over, and in the 55 km race, there is one fell, with beautiful sceneries, magical wilderness with wildlife around, easy skiing on northern swamp-like areas and great opportunities to spot reindeer along the course. Two factors make this event different from many other long distance ski races. One is the nature of Lapland. It’s unlike any-thing else. The second is the total vertical climb, which is more than 1000 meters. There are long climbs up and fast downhill parts. Pickles, raisins, water and Squeezy sport drinks will be offered at the refreshment stations.
The course goes in Pallas- Yllästunturi National Park! Leave no trace. All garbage must be put to trash bins at refreshment and service stations. Garbage is a danger not only to animals but also to other skiers. Take care of others garbage if necessary. In case of littering by the participant or his/her crew, the racer will be granted with the penalty of 80 €. This will be accounted in full to support Pallas-Ylläs National Park.
