FINAL RESULTS SEASON X

Visma Ski Classics season X got an abrupt end due to the COVID-19 virus when the last three races, Birkenbeinerrennet, Reistadløpet, and Ylläs-Levi, were canceled. Although, nine out of twelve events were successfully executed in an exciting and surprising season. Several young male and female skiers made themselves a name within long distance skiing this winter and the legends in Visma Ski Classics (skiers with at least five victories) continues to show how incredible strong they are. Here are the final results in Visma Ski Classics competitions season X.

 

HERTZ CHAMPION COMPETITION

Winners: Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team & Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom

Johansson Norgren win the overall title for the fifth year in a row and takes the victory with 1445 points followed by Kari Vikhagen Gjeitnes, Team Koteng, with 1295 points and Katerina Smutna, Ed System Bauer Team with 1160 points.

Andreas Nygaard is the overall winner for the second year in a row and takes his victory with 1195 points followed by his teammate Tord Asle Gjerdalen at 1090 points and Stian Hoelgaard, Team Koteng, with 1055 points.

SPRINT COMPETITION

Winners: Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden & Stian Berg, Team Kaffebryggeriet

Korsgren won by just three points ahead of Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team. 186 points against 183. The third was Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng, with 115. Berg decided the men’s competition at Vasaloppet where he took maximum points and therefore won with 100 points before Max Novak, Team Ramudden. Oskar Kardin, Team Ragde Eiendom, was third with 180 points.

 

CLIMB COMPETITION

Winners: Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team & Morten Eide Pedersen, Team Kaffebryggeriet

Johansson Norgren clearly won with 209 points. The second was Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng, with 138 and Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, with 122. Eide Pedersen was superior on the men’s side with 372 points followed by Andreas Holmberg, Lager 157 Ski Team, at 199 and Petter Eliassen, Team Ragde Eiendom, with 173.

 

YOUTH COMPETITION

Winners: Ida Dahl, Team Ramudden & Max Novak, Team Ramudden

Dahl took a clear victory in the youth competition with 934 points before her teammate Jenny Larsson with 707 and Team Ragde Eiendoms Thea Krokan Murud with 702. It was a closer fight among the men where Novak won with 786 points before Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, with 757. Torleif Syrstad, Team Koteng, was third with 456 points.

 

PRO TEAM COMPETITION

Team Ragde Eiendom won the Pro Team competition with 1470 points, Lager 157 Ski Team was second with 1365. Team Koteng on third place with 1355 points followed by Team Ramudden at 1260 and Russian Winter Team with 970 points.

 

VISMA ALP TROPHY

Winners: Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team & Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom

It was a pretty close match in the women’s class where Johansson Norgren had 975 points followed by Kari Vikhagen Gjeitnes, Team Koteng, with 945 and Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng, with 904. It was close also on the men’s side where Nygaard had 790 points and was followed by Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team Ragde Eiendom, with 745 and Stian Hoelgaard, Team Koteng, with 710 points.

 

VISMA NORDIC TROPHY

Winners: Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden and Petter Eliassen, Team Ragde Eiendom

Vasaloppet became the only competition in the Visma Nordic Trophy this winter. On the women’s side it is Korsgren before Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team and Katerina Smutna, Ed System Bauer Team. On the men’s side Eliassen won before Stian Hoelgaard and Torleif Syrstad, both Team Koteng. Since only Vasaloppet could be arranged in the Visma Nordic Trophy, 25% of the prize money will be distributed. Despite the fact that the last three events were canceled, all other prize money is fully distributed.

 

VISMA SKIER OF THE DAY

The award, Visma Skier of the Day, is handed out to a skier that significantly been offensive in the race trying to set a high pace. This winter has five such awards been handed out:

  1. Livigno, Individual Prologue: Kristoffer Nielsen, Team XPND
  2. La Venosta: Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng
  3. Kaiser Maximilian Lauf: Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden
  4. La Diagonela: Petter Eliassen, Team Ragde Eiendom
  5. Vasaloppet: Torleif Syrstad, Team Koteng

 

PRIZE MONEY DISTRIBUTION AND FINAL GALA

Visma Ski Classics prize money of 250.000 EUR is divided by the competitions as graph below. Normally, the prize ceremony is held at the official Visma Ski Classics gala, after the final event. The gala is now moved to September 19th 2020.
